Wedding Planning Southampton
Southampton is one of my favourite cities for weddings, I grew up here so I know its many delights and hidden gems.
Fancy getting married on a cruise ship but with your feet firmly on land? The Southampton Harbour Hotel and Spa is the next best thing. Look out of this cruise ship-shaped hotel onto Ocean Village Marina. The views are breath-taking. Choose The Bow reception room with chandeliers, a terrace and floor to ceiling windows and panoramic views of the marina. For smaller weddings choose The Needles room, smaller with beautiful marina views.
Southampton’s Best Western Chilworth Manor is a very romantic venue with its grand staircase and open fireplace. It also offers 2 main reception rooms.
If you choose to get married at The Ageas Bowl Cricket Ground, you can have a photo on the famous outfield and have a cricket bat for guests to sign – bit different to the standard guestbook!
Another fine option is New Place Hotel in Shirrel Heath. With its 32 acres of landscaped gardens and Grade 1 listed Manor House, it is a gorgeous setting. There is even a cricket pitch and croquet lawn, that could make some quirky wedding photos!
Let’s not forget the Dancing Man, formally the Wool House (a medieval warehouse) and then used as Southampton Maritime Museum.
These are just a few of Southampton’s offerings.
Let’s face it, weddings are expensive, but any discounts I get will be passed directly to you, I take no ‘little extras’ from venues or suppliers for recommending them. Add to that the time I’ll save you, it makes sense to have Wedding Planner. If you’re unsure have a look at my Why Have a Wedding Planner page.
